06 Aug Boosting creativity
We often hear people say that they’re not creative and that they feel restricted. This is certainly due to the fact that they censor themselves due to a lack of self-confidence. But this condition is not inevitable, and there are simple techniques to suit all temperaments. You can develop your creativity through sophrology, meditation, hypnotherapy… The important thing is not the method but the fact of reconnecting with your inner childrefocus and regain regain self-confidence . If you look at children, you’ll see that they let their imaginations run wild, with no limits, and give a lot of space to dreams. That’s exactly what you adults need to do too: let go and feed your imagination. It’s not easy, of course, because we censor ourselves. The important thing is to find out what’s stopping you from being yourself, and what fears are blocking you. Connecting with our inner child, telling him or her that we love him or her and reconnecting with him or her allows us to find or rediscover a creative life energy and a sense of wonder that we have lost since we left the world of childhood. Our inner child allows us to play down events and find the solution that lies within us. This will enable us to step back and manage our emotions as adults. There are a number of exercises to help us rediscover our inner child and guide us through this rebirth, such as meditation or visualization. The practice of hypnosis, in self-hypnosis or with a professional, can also help to overcome phobias and blockages, using the memories buried within us. They can of course be performed alone, but the support of a specialist can often speed up the healing process. For his part, American psychologist John Bradshaw has developed his own theory, which involves discovering at what stage of development we have abandoned our inner child and allowing it to grow up as a real child would. You’ll soon realize that the more you let yourself go, the more creative you’ll be. It’s a self-perpetuating virtuous circle, with the first step being the most complicated, and all the others leading to healing.
